Project Scope
APD-U completed a land use and revitalization study of a major transportation corridor in the City of Jacksonville. The purpose of the Corridor Study was to address the changing land uses along the roadway as a result of the roadway changing from a major commuter highway to a commercial and industrial center.
Our Work
The Study documents all of the existing uses along the roadway, and addresses such issues as aesthetics, urban design, land use and zoning, and economic development. APD-U has worked closely with the existing business association with workshops and structured telephone interviews and has consulted neighborhood representatives of the adjacent neighborhoods to gain insight into the needs of the residents.
Deliverables
- Land use recommendations
- Strategized the creation of financial incentives for new businesses.
- Since the Study’s adoption, APD-U has been asked back to the business association meetings on an advisory level for other issues.
