APD Urban Planning and Management, LLC was asked to manage property acquisition and project development within the Model Block areas within Pleasant Street and Fifth Avenue Neighborhoods. Prior to the assignment, APD-U assisted the City of Gainesville in selecting Model Block Development areas in both neighborhoods due to the prevalence of vacant housing and lost population.
APD’s primary task included preparation of work write-ups, cost estimation, contractor selection, preparation of construction contracts, monitoring of construction progress, and marketing new homes. APD-U also facilitated an interactive exercise to identify additional catalytic development opportunities, circulation projects, and infrastructure projects to enhance the housing development within each Model Block areas.
