Project Scope

The City of Mobile retained EDSA, along with APD, to review and update their master plan, 12 years old at this point. The New Plan for Mobile focused on creating development strategies and initiatives for optimizing land use and transportation networks, promoting equity in community resources, leveraging public and private investment, and the redevelopment of an adjacent neighborhood to downtown.

Our Work

APD-U’s focused on the preparation of development plans for the Midtown North and Midtown South neighborhoods located immediately adjacent to downtown Mobile. The initiatives for this plan, identified through a series of community workshops, were designed to address housing conservation, infill strategies and neighborhood commercial needs, to increase housing options, and to identify green space, connectivity, and walkability issues and opportunities. APD-U then developed actions steps for implementing each initiative.
