Project Scope
APD-U was retained by the U.S. Federal Housing Agency to the study the administration’s foreclosure property disposition process and make recommendations for changes. Previous disposition policy solely focused on asset recovery through disposition to investors. New policies reveal that the manner which the FHA foreclosure properties are handled have a major impact on neighborhood health, vitality, and stability. The goal of the study is to understand the consequences in the application new policies and programs.
Our Work
APD-U explored the FHA disposition process in detail, using survey data from a range of NeighborhoodWorks ® organizations (NWOs) with varying levels of expertise in the subject matter. The data was then supplemented by three different case studies, each with a different approach to FHA property development.
