Biography

Mia McDowell has over twenty (20) years of professional experience in social and community services. As a Community Services Specialist with APD-U, Mia works closely with the Legacy Resident Retention Program through Atlanta Beltline, Inc and the Anti-Displacement Tax Fund through Westside Future Fund to assist homeowners enrolling in respective programs that assist with increase in property taxes. She manages de day to day operations of both programs from application review to disbursement of program tax benefits.

Prior to APD-U, Mia was the project lead on the Forest Cove Relocation Project at Open Doors Atlanta, where she was instrumental in securing over 400 housing units and housing over 200 families from Forest Cove. Mia has also been a program coordinator working with homeless individuals, families and veterans providing mental health services, community outreach and securing housing.

Mia has a certification in the Georgia Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment and a certification in Bio-Psychosocial Assessment
