While at APD-U, Meng has developed several site plans for community improvement at various sites in the City of Florence and the City of Houston. She also manages the GIS database and server at APD-U and has created online maps utilized for neighborhood retention and revitalization. Meng has sought to automate APD-U’s analysis work using various tools and coding scripts.
Prior to APD-U, Meng participated in architecture design and city planning projects in Zhengzhou and Shanghai, China. She did architecture design for a construction management firm and a high-density urban complex, and did the master planning of a special economic zone.
Meng has a Bachelor of Architecture from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, and a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she concentrated in GIS and urban design. At Georgia Tech, Meng also earned the Certificate in Geographic Information Systems.
